After receiving the November 5, 2017 security update to my Huawei Mate 9 Pro phone, data connections to the LTE T-Mobile network are very unstable. Rebooting allows a data connection only for a few minutes and then you are disconnected from data.
This appears to be a bug in the software update. A work-around is to add a new APN that uses the legacy “epc.tmobile.com” server instead of the “fast.t-mobile.com”.
- Create a new APN called “T-Mobile Legacy”
